Why the colour lasts.
No vague “gold tone”, no miracle claims. Here is exactly what is under the gold of our pieces, and why their colour stays put day after day.
It starts underneath.
Most of our pieces are built on stainless steel or titanium steel. These metals don’t rust, don’t oxidise and don’t turn your skin green. A base that stays stable gives the gold layer nothing to push it off from below. That is the main reason cheap brass jewelry fades in weeks, while our steel pieces keep their colour far longer.
A real 18K gold layer.
On that steel base we apply an 18K gold plating (or silver, or rose gold). It is the same warm colour as solid gold, bonded onto a metal that does not move.
PVD on some pieces.
Some designs go one step further with PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition): the gold is bonded to the steel at a molecular level, a finish noticeably tougher than classic plating. When a piece is PVD, its product page says so.
Five habits that keep the shine.
Plating doesn’t disappear on its own: it is worn down by friction and by a few everyday products. These habits make all the difference.
- Perfume and lotion first, jewelry last.Let them dry before putting your pieces on.
- Take them off for the pool, the sea and the gym.Chlorine, salt and sweat are what plating likes least.
- Dry them after water.A quick wipe with a soft towel after washing your hands or a shower.
- Store them apart.One pouch or one compartment per piece, so they don’t scratch each other.
- Clean gently.A soft, dry cloth. Never abrasives or jewelry dips.
And the copper or alloy pieces?
A few designs use copper or an alloy, which allow finer details (micro-set stones, flowers, letters). They are plated the same way but need more care: keep them dry and store them after wearing. Every product page lists the exact materials of each piece, so you always know what you are buying.
